I had the oddest thought occur to me as I was sitting in my documentary class today. For whatever reason I started wondering what it would have been like to sit on the board of an art contest and receiving submissions from Robert Maplethorpe. Eegad.

Olympus DM-10
FedEx made a long awated delivery today, dropping off a brand new digital voice recorder off at my doorstep. I’ve been wanting one of these for about a year now, and I’m hoping it will make certain parts of my life a little easier. I’m also hoping that it will encourage me to continue experimenting with the strange mix of media I’m caught up in. I really haven’t done much more than take it out of the box and play with it at this point, but I’m planning to give it heavy use over the next few days. The device itself only seems to be as complicated as an average MP3 player and learning curve for the software seems simple enough. The biggest questions I now have relate to how this new technology will affect my workflow.
