Sloughing Off

Monday was the first day of Spring Quarter for Shoreline Community College, and I’ve been taking my time easing into the routine. My concerns about last quarter are still at the fresh in my thought; I’m dead serious about not going through that kind of mess again. I hope that this quarter is going to be a lot more about photography. I hope to position myself so I can make the most of my summer vacation, which includes making some money. This quarter needs to be about clarity. As silly as it sounds, I’m really going to need to be a lot more selfish this quarter.

I’m just squeaking into the “full time student” category with thirteen credits. I’m actually taking sixteen credits worth of classes, but I had the option of taking one four-credit “journalism” class as a one-credit class, which costs less and lightens some of the responsibility. I want the information but I really don’t need the extra three credits, so I’m fine with how this works out.
I’m taking “Documentary Photography” this quarter, which is only taught once a year. I’ve been planning on coupling the journalism and photojournalism since last summer (if not before), and I’m planning throw myself into these two subjects. I’ve ordered an MP3 recorder from on online store, and I’m planning to conduct interviews for a few of my stories. I’m not sure where all of this is going to end up. This experiment is a natural development of my blogging and photographing; it’s more for me than anyone else. I hope to push myself.
I’m taking one daily class that meets weekday mornings: BusAd 120
