Happy President’s Day!

I got my call yesterday, so I guess you can say that my weekend was pretty well rounded out. Between homework, the ACLU’s Annual Meeting on Saturday, and Sunday’s visit to the Seattle Center, I’ve had plenty of distractions vying for attention. It’s a four-day weekend, but I’m working my ass off at the moment. Tomorrow will be the first day of Week Eight; I still have a lot to do for school.

If you get the chance, you might want to check out the Gallery. I’ve uploaded a few images from my visit to the Festival Sundiata, which was held this weekend at the Seattle Center. This is the first time I’ve taken all the gear out to an event like this. I was only there for a few hours, but I did capture a few images I like.
On the way out of the fairgrounds I noticed a strange fray of seagulls in the sky. It only took me a second to realize what I was seeing. I dropped to a knee, unzipped my camera pack and swung my new lens into the sky as quickly as I could. I only had a second, at the young Bald Eagle was pretty far away from me, but I think it’s cool that I was able to capture this image at all!
