After what seems like an eternity of weighing the pros to the cons, I’ve placed an order for a Nikon D-70! Although I can’t really afford this camera, I also realize I can’t afford to not make this particular purchase. Fortunately for all, our present culture of greed provides a dizzying array of opportunities for one to destroy one’s credit.
Having a real D-SLR will open up a lot of new possibilities, including many online opportunities. I’m not sure how long it will take me to negotiate the learning curve for this unfamiliar technology, or how it will affect my workflow, but I certainly do hope this acquisition will encourage me to start adding visual content to my blog again. After taking my first photography class last spring I felt inhibited by the limitations of point-and-shoot digital. I found the process of scanning black and white photos both time-consuming and labor intensive, and I already have my fair share of time management issue. Based on my previous experience with Mary’s point-and-shoot digital camera, I hope I to get high quality visual content online with relative ease.
Anywhatever, I just placed my online order this morning. Since it’s shipping by ground, I’m guessing that it will be delivered near the end of next week.
