My First Day Of Fall Quarter

I started my first day of Fall Quarter at Shoreline Community College by driving around the parking lot for forty minutes, looking for a parking space. It’s quite ridiculous, actually, and I was one of many caught in that awkward situation. When I finally gave in to the realization that I couldn’t find one by looking I just parked my car off to the side of one of the wider isles, turned the engine off, and read a book while sitting on my hood. About ten minutes later I talked to one student that was leaving for the day and she graciously gave me her space. (Did I mention that I’ve paid for parking for the quarter?)

Only four days until Fall Quarter

Including today, I now have only four days left until school starts, and I couldn’t be more excited! A wonderful unfoldment led to a dramatic shift in thought late Monday afternoon, and that culminated in my returning to Shoreline Community College this quarter as a fulltime student! Now only that, but additional unfoldments have presented themselves, and it looks like I may very well be holding full-time student status for quite some time! I really can’t tell you how grateful I am that this is happening, or just how unexpected this was.

Shallowest

Yesterday, Narelle announced that she’s getting married on Friday. And the God-damnedest thing is that, while I am sincerely happy for her and her fiancee, I’m utterly crushed by her news. This contradiction is sickening. I know it’s selfish, but I’ve just been confronted with the incontrovertible realization that her relationship with me grossly lacks the intimacy and openness that I’ve always hoped for.
