I just got a call from the agency that’s placed me at the bank out here in Everett. I’ve agreed to continue working at this assignment through the 16th of July. Considering the potential volatility of upcoming events and the sensitivity of my employers, this comes as particularly good news. There’s a lot in the works right now, so the kind company, routine, and income that go with this assignment are more than a little appreciated.
Speaking of things that are in the works, I’ll be missing a full day’s pay tomorrow so I can address one interesting factor. The American Civil Liberties Union gave me a call last Thursday regarding my recent problem at the Ballard Locks, and we made an appointment to discuss it. I’m not sure what will come of tomorrow’s meeting, but I’ll be going in with everything I’ve got and a total willingness to pursue the issue.
Also, I sent off a packet of information to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People over the weekend. I’m guessing that no one over there will actually see that mailing until at least Thursday. I really have no idea what to expect from the NAACP.
One last thought, while I’m on it: The New Ballard News Tribune will be coming out tomorrow, and I’m expecting to find at least one letter to the editor relating to last week’s story. The Northwest Asian publication should be hitting the street tomorrow. I’ll try to spend a little time scanning those articles so those of you that are outside of the Ballard neighborhood can get your eyeful.
