I finally did it! And I can’t believe that I finally did it, either! After talking about it for so long it’s hard for me to actually believe that the image of Seattle at the bottom of my site’s homepage has actually been updated. I tried to keep the image size to a minimum, but it still weighs in at 32k, which is a good deal more than I would normally allow. Since this is my own personal website, however, I’m willing to make an exception.
Just in case you’re wondering why this was important to me, I’ll tell you. The old image of Seattle was only about 60% of the width of the new image, so the likelihood of that image repeating itself to accomodate larger monitors was significant. The new image is 1150 pixels wide, so most (but not all) monitors should be free of this ugly little problem.
Don’t worry. There’s still plenty of web site chores left more me to procrastinate on.
