School Stuff

The school quarter is quickly coming to a close, so it’s really been the focus of my recent life. My Monday night photography class was a video and discussion about night photography–including moonlight photography, lightning photography, star points and star trails, and special painting techniques for night photography. The whole thing was incredibly fascinating. I hope I get the opportunity to try some of these techniques on camping trips this summer.

The Same, But Different

If I’m doing my math right, there’s only two weeks of school left. I really can’t believe how quickly the time has passed. My involvements with class, assignments and the photography department, as well as my recent illness, have telescoped time and disoriented me. I still have a lot left to do, and not much time to work with.

Ambition

If you’ve been following the bouncing ball then you probably realize that I’ve grown generally dissatisfied with my lot in life, particularly where it comes to work. I’ve been working as a production artist for years now, and as fun as it is to work on some company’s holiday catalog or to kiss someone’s ass to get a few measly paychecks, I’ve found myself wanting to get more out of it all. I still remember how much fun design can be.

What Is Up

I actually made it out to the darkroom yesterday, which was my first visit there in a week! I brought a new package of photo paper with me (250 sheets this time), so I was able to really focus on enlarging the best print I could instead of worrying about managing my paper supplies. (You can see what I was working on in my photoblog.)

Under Par

Well, I managed to miss out on another Monday lecture. I was still feeling too under the weather to risk driving all the way out to Shoreline for last night’s class. I hate that I missed it. I’ve only got three weeks of school left and now I’m fucking up.
