Not because I spent another six hours at Shoreline today, or because I actually developed my own prints, from start to finish. Don’t fear me for the contact sheets or the 8 x 10′s. If you must, fear me for joining Shoreline’s Photo Club.
Today, the photo club was working with hand coloring black and white photos. Since I’m so new to Shoreline I only knew two members of the club (from my extensive use of the darkroom). The woman that was leading this special session of photography study obviously had a great deal of knowledge and experience in the subject. Seeing one of the member’s hand painted childhood and family photos really made an impression.
I was just a drop-in tonight, but I did add my email address to the club’s list. Apparently, they meet every Thursday. I’m looking forward to the next meeting, where I’ll be a little more prepared.
