Extended Vacation
Checking my cell this morning, I found a message from Jeff. He apologized about the lateness of his return call. Yesterday was his first day back in the office since Spain, and things were hectic.

“Photography Is Really Expensive”
I’ve had a fair amount of time on my hands today, so I’ve been keeping myself busy by tracking down the materials listed in my photography class’s syllabus. Following CameraTechs and Bootsy’s kindly recommendations, I headed south on Rainier for about twenty minutes, to Rainier Photographic Supply, to complete my mission.

My First Day Of School
Today’s high hit 79°f! (That’s 26.1°c.) Even though this warm weather isn’t going to be sticking around, it’s still fantastic for the lower half of March in Seattle.

Spring Quarter Begins
After all the whatever, I actually get to start school tonight over at Shoreline Community College. What a trip. I’ve wanted to get some kind of formal training in photography for so long that this whole thing still seems surreal. I’m pretty excited.

ianspiers.com Photoblog
It’s taken a lot of work behind the scenes, but I’m pleased to announce I’ve just launched a “Photoblog” section for this web site. Since my photography classes will be starting tomorrow night, I felt this is the perfect time for me to add this feature to ianspiers.com. Sure, there are still a few issues I need to address, but enough of the new section is functioning for me to feel happy about it.

The weather forecast for the Seattle area calls for a high of 52° (14.4°c), with showers throughout the day. School starts Monday night and (hopefully) the job will be kicking in again on Tuesday, so this is the last weekend I have to go out and shoot extra film. This is also the last free weekend I’m going to have to spend with Mary, just doing whatever. This also means that I only have about two and a half days left to attack the items remaining on the To Do list I started last weekend. It’s going to be a full day.

I Confess: I Buckled
I’ve been living outside of my Franklin for the better part of the week, so I took some time to really address my personal business this morning. There’s nothing like knowing exactly where you stand with your finances, especially when the outlook isn’t disastrous.

Good Morning
Thanks to the inexplicable loss of my internet connection, this morning started a little differently than usual. Actually, I found the interruption a bit funny. I’ve been so used to this part of my morning routine–checking my email, reading some local news, checking the weather, etc. –that I had to actually think about what to do next. My disorientation only lasted until Willy’s routine jarred me back to life, but it sure was interesting while it was happening.

A Little Break
I took a little break from the web stuff in the early part of the day and went out and around Ballard. I needed the break.
