29th Day

Whew! Lots of stuff happening over here in my world. It’s the last day of the month, the last day of my weekend, and the last day I have to devote entirely to my own agenda. so it was really a great day to run around town. I really tried to seize the day. I’m feeling pretty happy with the progress I’ve made.

But before I go into the particulars, I just want you to know that the sun was out in all its splendor today here in Ballard. I love this time of the year. I grew up with cherry trees in front of my childhood home, so I find myself returning to something beautiful each spring as I see the trees budding and blooming. I love the way the tulips push though the ground, the strange and radical shifts in the weather, seeing the sun earlier and the later sunsets, and all the etceteras springtime implies, but cherry blossoms reflect a place in my heart that’s filled with many good things.
022904BLOG_4.jpgThat said, here’s the short list of what I did today: With my “Things To Do Today” list in hand, I studied, did some banking, got a haircut, washed my car, joined the Ballard Health Club, drafted the first draft of an “Idea Form” for my business ideas, updated the pages in my Franklin Planner, cleaned the kitchen, washed the dishes, ran a load of laundry, and bought and arranged a bouquet of tulips for Mary. I really enjoyed this forray into normalcy. I still have a number of things to do before the evening is out, but writing this entry is one of them, and I always appreciate a change of pace.
Mary was working at Epilogue for a majority of the afternoon, so I was really left to my own devices. I did take Willy for a walk down to Ballard’s Farmers Market. (He was really excited and distracted by all of the other dogs that were out enjoying the weather.) I’d hoped to buy some flowers there, to support this local cause, but I was disappointed to find the market is still accommodating it’s winter schedule, which confines it to a single, vacant lot. (I’m not quite sure who though of putting that strange art in the middle of the street in front of the market, but, well, whatever.)

And on that note, it’s almost time for me to sign off and get on with my evening. The 76th Annual Academy Awards are playing in the background, which should provide some light entertainment as I’m working on other things.
Hmmm. Film,
