29th Day

Whew! Lots of stuff happening over here in my world. It’s the last day of the month, the last day of my weekend, and the last day I have to devote entirely to my own agenda. so it was really a great day to run around town. I really tried to seize the day. I’m feeling pretty happy with the progress I’ve made.

Good Stuff

It’s a little hard for me to believe tomorrow is the last day of the month. I’ve been so busy with the new job that I really haven’t had the chance to let things settle in. Yet, at the same time, I can see that a lot has happened.

Tired

I was relieved as all hell to get the last two of the six jobs I’ve been working on approved as finals. I think Patti (the product manager) was just about as sick of seeing these file as I was. Well, sort of. Beyond the obvious statement these jobs make about my ability to work, these last files had become a personal challenge.

Dialing In, Tuning Out

Jeff’s dynamic is amazing. Knowing full well the power he was giving me free access to, he handed me a copy of some Unix commands that he found “after some serious searching on the internet.” “Careful with that,” he cautioned in a somber tone. Working It All Out

I have been walking around in bit of a daze since the job opportunity first appeared last week. It’s a fantastic professional opportunity, and a welcome change to my adopted routine, but more than that, it’s been addressing some of my quieter, more spiritual longings.

Last Weekend

I’ve just had my Monday morning shower. It’s a little after 6:00am, and it’s still dark outside. I’m taking this brief moment to make this blog entry while I have the chance, Continue reading

End Of Week One

I’m too tired to write, well, almost. From the first call from the agency to the end of today’s business, it’s been a big week for me. The learning curve I’ve been traversing really makes me appreciate having only two real workdays this week. My head is humming again, and I can feel parts of me shutting down, like my subconscious is rerouting energies with the knowledge that I won’t be working in the morning.

Starting At Winn Devon

Today was my first day at Winn Devon, and it was great. It may not look like much from the outside, but there’s significant value here.
