Quiet Time In Slushville

Throughout the night snow turned to freezing rain, transforming the virginal veil of white into a deformed cover of ice and slush. As expected, the local news has become a prolific expose on the horrors of nature and urban life. The streets and sidewalks are covered with various forms of melting ice, which is slowly being washed away by today’s nonstop rain.

Snow Day

I first got up around 1:30 this morning and had a peek out my window to see if the hype about the snowstorm were accurate. Our local news stations had agreed that the first signs of the storm were supposed to occur late in the evening. Although we’ve had a few sprinkles of snow over the last few years, it really hasn’t been much to write home about, so I was a bit disappointed to find that there was still nothing happening outside.

OK, a little while ago Mary got an email from one of our friends, which led to me to the realization that I didn’t have easy access to their phone numbers. In this case, I somehow seem to have entered their mailing and emailing address into my Mac’s Address Book without ever adding the cell phone numbers. I was able to give them a call after scouring some old emails, and then I updated the Address Book database,

Out & About Thrifting

The drive downtown was nice, giving Mary and I the opportunity to watch the little snow flurries as they swirled across the road. The weather reports assure us that the snow will give way to clearer skies and lower temperatures, but the gentle snowfall stirred far greater daydreams of havoc.
