Waiting For FedEx

Mary was feeling sick yesterday. Knowing that she’s very rarely under the weather, I really tried to encourage her to take it easy. I got her on the couch in PJ’s with a blanket, pillows and the remote, and fed her chicken noodle soup and hot tea. She dozed and played with Willy as I started grappling with Maya’s learning curve. She’s feeling altogether better today, and it’s easy to see her improvement.

I’m slowly getting acquainted with Maya, but I won’t be able to make much progress with my current setup. Since much of Maya’s workflow is dependent on use of a 3-button mouse, I’m realizing that using my Kensington trackball will be awkward at best. The Wacom tablet I ordered should be FedEx’d sometime today, and it ships with their wireless 2D Mouse–a 3-button mouse that’s used in conjunction with the tablet. Grateful for this convenient coincidence, I’m happy to give this a try.
Keeping my ongoing personal commitment to actively pursue my creative and professional goals, I renewed my membership with the National Association of Photoshop Professionals today. My renewal was not a question. Although I’m still a bit skeptical of the real value I receive from being a NAPP member, I also admit that I have not been a very “active” member. I enjoy reading the bimonthly magazine. I received a discount on my renewal through one of my agencies, and I know NAPP members receive a discount when upgrading to the new Photoshop CS, so I’m not complaining.
