Feeling Better

Considering that today has marked the end of a drug-induced stupor, today has been a very good day. I’m still a bit off from recent events (including yesterday’s clock change for daylight savings). Sure, I’ve “experimented” with more than my fare share of drugs over the years, but it’s an entirely different thing to pop Vicoden out of perceived necessity. Having spent the last two days bumbling around, sprawling out on my couch or just napping my time away, I’m glad to be returning to clarity. (I’m still in some pain, but not in the same degree as Saturday morning.)

I’m still a bit wrapped up in intellectual and metaphysical issues at the moment. I find that I’m distracting myself; trying not to thinks too much about things. I hope I don’t feel like this for long.
The four books I requested through the Seattle Public Library on Maya 4.5 arrived this morning. I picked them up from the Ballard branch the minute they opened their doors. I’ve only given these books a cursory glance. Two of them have accompanying CD’s for their lesson projects, so I’m quite hopeful that these will be enough to help me get started using the program.
Better still, UPS delivered the 512 MB RAM I ordered last week, which brings my computer up to 1024 MB. I plan on adding even more RAM as I approach my multimedia goals, but this new upgrade should be more than enough for my current requirements. (Installing the RAM was a breeze, once I figured out how to open the case.)
