First Thing Monday

Woke up a bit late today and chose to ease in to my Monday morning. Having had certain muscle groups brought to my attention last week, I haven’t been working out lately. Instead, I managed only a little bit of morning study and hung out with Mary and Willy.

After a short and extremely wet bus ride into work I fired up the freelance workstation’s rental G4, caught up on my email and prepped for the day. In passing, Mike thanked me for coming in on Saturday to work on the MSN project. “No worries,” I replied.
“We’re all worried,” Joe quipped, generating a localized chuckle in the department. Joe does that. Sharing the back wall of my cube, I’ve caught glimpses of this proofreader’s wry wit over the last five day. I also knew the MSN project leaders were on the phone gunning for him at the end of Saturday. I asked, and he shared a few lighthearted comments about being called in Sunday.
Jason, my direct report, stopped by the cube and caught me up to speed. Some of the powers-that-be are currently in a meeting to approve what the next step will be. Today I’ll prepping the project for a presentation later in the day; mocking up all of the kits and mounting proofs. Until I get the official go-ahead, though, I’m in a holding pattern.
Maybe I’ll help Mignonne with some PDF’s and some printouts. At least, that was her conjecture a minute ago….
