Horton, Lantz and Low

Returning the enthusiastic phone message from my agent, I learned that my interview over at Horton, Lantz and Low had apparently been a resounding success. In fact, my agent said that they’d seemed confused when she’d called them for feedback, indicating that they were already expecting me to start on Wednesday.

(Um, just a quick point of clarification: I made it very clear that I had other interviews and job offers, and that I would be providing my agency with my final decision. I know which side my bread is buttered on.)
I told my agent that I’d like the weekend to consider my decision, but called back within ten minutes and plainly accepted the assignment. There’s been so much work that’s gone into this one, and the fit feels so right that I didn’t feel it appropriate to leave things in the air over the weekend. That something in my agent’s voice throughout this whole exchange, coupled with the clarity of the communication with the good people at the firm, have me identifying this with my higher principles. The assignment may only be “guaranteed” by my interviewers through mid November, but I’m ready to move forward.
This sounds like a lot of fun, hard work with good people that can teach me a lot. It seems like a great fit.
I start Wednesday.
