Geeking On Word

Pretty deep in geek mode, I’ve spent the majority of my day working with Microsoft Word X for Mac. More specifically, I’ve been working in detail with Word’s ability to work with larger documents by using Document Outlines, Subdocuments and Indexes. I’ve reviewed the resources I have in my library, including an in depth manual for Word 2000 MOUS Certification, and I’ve been applying these techniques to some old personal documents I’ve wanted to revisit. My documents still need a lot of development, but Word is practical knowledge that I’ve wanted to get more experience with, so I’m not distressed about my investing so much time.

I’ve been thinking about time a lot more frequently. Not long ago I was struck by the notion that three quarters of this year has already gone by, and the thought really overwhelmed me. I’m not sure what’s setting it off, but I think that my keeping a blog and my list of goals are the main contributors. Or it could be that I’m aware of the approaching holidays. Not sure,.
Well, Kelsey’s gone back home now. Par for the course, she barely emerged from the spare room this weekend, opting instead to listen to illegally downloaded MP3′s (I’m sure), watch TV and gorge herself on junk food. If that bedroom had had it’s own bathroom you’d never even know she was here.
Of course, Kelsey’s departure also signifies the end of Mary and my snacking. It’s been fun, but I’m ready to get back to work.
