I received an email this morning from the National Association of Photoshop Professionals telling me their plans to support for the new Photoshop CS. A little surprised by the news of a new release, I did some quick research on the Adobe site and learned that Adobe just announced this new version of Photoshop morning. The “CS” stands for “Creativity Suite,” and looks to be the replacement for their previous “Studio” suites. Photoshop CS, InDesign CS, Illustrator CS and Version Cue are packaged together in the standard version, and GoLive CS and Acrobat CS join the aforementioned in the Premium version.
I love that Adobe continues to innovate and support their programs, but upgrading can be a real problem. There’s nothing like having to upgrade your entire core of programs at once to really show your brand loyalty. And then you have to hope that all of the bugs are clear. Oh, well… bend over and try not to think about it.
Mary and I went out thrifting at late morning. (All signs of yesterday’s beautiful blue sky was obfuscated by today’s fog.) I scored four more graphic design books (one of which I had checked out twice from the Ballard Library!) and a cool book on making T-shirts. Mary picked up a few minor garments.
I’ve revisited the task of uploading more samples for one of my agencies. I has nine images of samples for their web site, each of these with two paragraphs that describe the piece and my role in its production. With the additional labor from today, I now have fourteen pieces.
This project took the majority of my afternoon. Each selection had to be rebuilt from some file or files that I have archived. One of my selections required I search high and low to locate a missing element. Another was a compilation, requiring that I gather various files. For another piece I chose to use the digital camera to get a good picture of some materials I’ve created. I’ll have to do the writing for these new pieces tomorrow.
I’ve been very bad with my procrastination on this task. This will be the third time that I’ve gone through this process for this particular agency, and I don’t plan on making any additional efforts specifically for them after this is complete.
The workouts have really kicked in for me. Although I’d really pushed myself at the gym yesterday, I’ve experienced no discomfort today. I’m grateful for this sign of progress.
It’s been a long day, and I’m tired.
