Just A Moment

Beyond a few minor errands and housekeeping matters, today has been extremely low-key. I’ve spent much of my day catching up on some much needed reading, researching some technologies I’m interested in. Geek that I am, what that really means is that I’ve spent most of my day sitting in front of my computer. Of course, I’ve also been hanging out with Mary and Willy, which is always fun.

I took a little time to catch up on some personal correspondence today. I sent a quick note to my sister–just because. I can’t remember ever sending her a card for no real reason, so she may be surprised at the sentiment. It may be a bit awkward, but it is sincere. I think about her and her family regularly, but the distance between us is more than the hour’s drive.
I’ve also been thinking about Narelle a lot lately. We spoke a few weeks ago, but she’s really been off the radar. We used to tie up the phone lines quite frequently, for hours at a time, but now it’s only about one call every month or so. It bothers me that we don’t talk as much as we could. Maybe that’s just the way, and that’s OK and I accept it, but I still miss my friend.
