Yes, after much anticipation (on my part), this site has finally made the transition over to a new web host. Although this may seem like a little thing, my new host allows me to implement a key feature that was unavailable to me with my last host, namely: the Image Magick PERL module.
Image Magick is a module that I’ve heard referenced for many months now. It generates thumbnails of photos on the server side, thereby automating a step in the process of publishing some images to blogs. Since one of my goals for this site is to add a steady amount of new visual content, I am very interested streamline the process of editing and adding images to my blog. It sounds like Image Magick should help.
At very least, I will now be able to share some kind of experience with this technology. Of course, the fact that my new hosting service will save me a few bucks is also quite the bonus!
NOTE: I’m just now realizing that I have some more clean up to do. Something appears to have gone seriously haywire with the all of the article links on my site’s main index page. I’m not going to worry about it right now, but I’ll try to address this ASAP.
