Today’s Highlights

First order of duty for our day was to hit the Seattle Goodwill for their Literacy Book Sale, which happens about twice a year. Thousands of books are strewn about a back room for these sales, piled on and under tables, reaching from wall to wall. There’s no sorting order at all, so it’s just one great big free-for-all. And with all price for all books at $1.49 or less, it gets to be a madhouse!

There was a line of people standing outside the building, but this was tame in comparison to what we’ve seen in the past. Some people bring their own boxes, and others fill grocery carts by just grabbing stacks of books with little to no idea of what they’re getting.
After searching for about an hour we came out with only about five books (four of which are mine) and a few other general items. (I can’t help it. I’ve got a good enough library at this point to be picky.) All things considered, for only $8.82, we made out just fine.
Sometime after getting home Mary made some choices about her web site ideas. She’d finally decided to go with “lifealdente.com” as a domain name, and reserved it online. She’s also paid for signed up for some server space with one of the hosts I’d researched
