Things To Come

Woke up this morning, checked my email, and there were no new spam emails! In fact, the whole day passed without me reading, “Hi, I just sent you an email from BlueMountain.com.” I guess that means that either my service provider did something to rectify the situation, or the person who set up that email demon made some kind of change. One way or the other, I hope this is the end of it.
I’ve really been enjoying my mornings. The weather over here has been erratic, bearing the adolescence of springtime. I’m almost always up early, which gives me an hour or two to myself, which I use to study and reflect. I often go for long walks and watch the sunrise. I listen to the birds. I smell the rain.
I’ve continued with the SAMS HTML 4.0 lessons. Several of the chapters I went through today covered a general introduction to computer graphics, so I was able to make up a little time. I’m halfway through right now. I’d still like to be done by the beginning of next week, but the weekend is almost here, so I’m really not sure how feasible this is at the moment.
Mary noticed an announcement today in the Ballard News Tribune about a free self-employment workshop running at the Ballard Family Center on Saturday. Of course, this falls in line with our interests, so we jumped at this opportunity. While I’m (positively) interested in what we may learn and experience, I’m not walking into this with any perceived notion of the outcome. (Our little Community Center is rather humble.)
This Saturday also happens to be the second Saturday of May, and that means that it’s time, once again, for the Ballard Art Walk. I’ve had this event marked on the wall calendar for a few weeks now, and Mary brought up the idea independently of my interest. I’m hoping that our spring weather will positively affect attendance and participation. I’d like to see a better showing than the one we attended back in March.
