The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord; (Isaiah 61:1, 2)
I think a lot about mental geography. While this isn’t a big secret, I do feel that I have become too accustomed to hiding my insights in exchange for social acceptance. Nonetheless, spiritual sense isn’t science fiction, and it’s not rocket science.
Have you ever walked into a room in which the people have just been hit with tragic news? The familiar cliche, “so thick you could cut it with a knife” often relates our common apprehension of mental atmosphere and emotional climate. Far from being senseless theory, these kinds of experiences clearly denote facets of our present and available spiritual sense.
Plainly stated: There has been a “quickening” in my thought. Recent discussions with my closest companions have confirmed unmistakable landmarks attesting to our mutual proximity to substantial spiritual change. The little “demonstrations” I’ve been eluding to also testify to consistent and substantial progression on a level beyond the testimony of the physical senses. Although I now find myself in foreboding and unfamiliar territory, I sense that I am well prepared for the next logical step in the journey.
I am leaning on the sustaining infinite.
