A New Project Is In The Works

St. Paddy’s Day is the amateur alcoholic’s “good excuse” to get shit-faced drunk — conveniently disguised as a holiday celebration. For bar patrons, only New Year’s Eve rivals this sacred event’s ability to pull the crowds in and ply them with liquor. For bar owners and bartenders, the payoff for dealing with all of the accompanying bullshit and insanity usually more than makes up for any of the associated problems which always arise when you expose so many people to so much booze.
Accordingly, I’ve picked up six cameras from Costco yesterday in an attempt to build a little project that might capture a little of that magical essence which is St. Paddy’s Day (next Monday). The idea is to release these cameras to friends throughout the day with instructions to take a few photos then pass the cameras on. I have put stickers on these cameras, which also explain my general idea, and clearly ask that the cameras be returned to any O.P. bartender when all of the exposures are used. (I even swung by the Old Pequliar first thing this morning and got an OK on this from Gabby, the manager.)
I’m not going to be holding my breath that any of the cameras will make it back to the bartenders, but I am hopeful that this little experiment won’t be a total loss. Since I’ll be dependant on the number of usable photos I end up with, I really don’t have a clear idea of what I’m going to do with the photos. Regardless of the potential for lost camera and a bunch of photos of penises, I think it’s a fun idea, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
In other news, I got a call from Catherine this morning. She started by apologizing that she was calling so late, and explained that the client had a few jobs cancelled, so they won’t be needing me. I told her that it was no big deal,
